Springfield Public Schools (SPS) hosted the first-ever Middle School Latinx Student Union Summit on May 8. Nearly 100 students from Hamlin, Agnes Stewart, Briggs, and Thurston Middle Schools were in attendance.

At its August 26, 2024 Work Session, the Springfield Public Schools Board of Directors selected Heather Quaas-Annsa to fill the vacant Position 2 seat. The Board unanimously approved her appointment following nearly two hours of candidate interviews.

Springfield Public Schools is seeking applicants to fill the recently vacated Position 2 on the Springfield Public Schools Board of Directors. In accordance with Policy BBC, the Board on August 12 declared the Position 2 vacancy following the resignation of Dr. Emilio Hernandez.
